KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Army recorded wins in the two Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) matches played on Wednesday.
PIA edged past PMC Athletico 1-0 at the PMC Football Ground in Faisalabad. The deciding goal was scored by Imran Khan in the 86th minute. At the Jinnah Football Stadium in Islamabad, Army beat Karachi Port Trust (KPT) 2-0. The goals for the winners were scored by Shakeel Yousuf (45+2 min) and Ansar Ahmed (63rd min).
Meanwhile, two matches were also played in the second division league at the Railway Football Stadium in Lahore. Pakistan Television (PTV) beat Zarai Tarraqiati Bank 2-0 with Salahuddin scoring both the goals for them in the 14th and 90+2 minutes and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) and Pakistan Public Works Department (PPWD) played a goalless draw.
