Lahore, 6 Sep: The remaining five matches of Fairplay Flood Relief Fund Football Tournament 2010 will be played after Eidul Fitr as heavy downpour turned the field of Model Town Football Academy (MTFA) Ground and make-shift venue of UMT Football Academy Ground, located inside University of Management and Technology (UMT) at Johar Town C-Block near Ghosia Chowk unplayable. The 16-team event was inaugurated by Mian Irfan Ali, Vice Chairman Fairplay NGOs and MTFA, on 27 August. |

KARACHI: The camp of the Pakistan football team, which was started a week back in Lahore for the preparations of the Asian Games, winded up on Friday and will resume with full force on September 18. The camp had started in a bid to fulfil the documentation process for the China event pencilled in for November 12-27. Head coach Akhtar Mohiuddin told ‘The News’ on Friday that 31 players out of 46 attended the camp. |

Lahore, 4 Sep: Model Town FC and Raiders FC earned passage into the semi-finals of Fair Play Flood Relief Fund Football Tournament 2010. Both the matches were tight finish with Model Town beating St.Michael 1-0 and Raiders imposed 2-0 win over Manga Mandi’s Quaid FC. Large audience watched the matches under flood lit system of UMT Football Academy Ground, located inside University of Management and Technology (UMT) at Johar Town C-Block near Ghosia Chowk. LOC hurriedly changed the venue as heavy downpour turned Model Town Football Academy Ground unplayable. |
