LHC dismisses Ashfaq Group’s appeal against FIFA NC [The Nation]

LAHORE – The Lahore High Courts (LHC) has dismissed Ashfaq Group’s appeal against FIFA Normalization Committee, it has been learnt.

According to FIFA Normalization Committee, earlier when Civil Court had restrained the Ashfaq Group from using the PFF Bank Accounts under a restraining order, Ashfaq Group went into appeal in the Sessions Court which was rejected. Against which Ashfaq group appealed in Lahore High Court which was dismissed too.

After ousting the normalisation committee and taking over the Football House Lahore by Ashfaq group, FIFA suspended Pakistan’s membership. Later, realizing the delicacy of the situation, the government authorities handed over the control of the building from the Ashfaq Group to the FIFA NC.

It has also been learnt that Pakistan’s hopes of ending the suspension have been brightened, but the control of PFF bank accounts also needs to be restored to the FIFA NC.

NC Chairman Haroon Malik has said that he will continue his efforts for the early resumption of domestic and international football activities in Pakistan.

Earlier the plaintiff and NC member Shahid Niaz Khokhar had requested the court to hear this case of national interest on daily basis which was accepted by the honourable court and the daily basis hearing is starting from today (Thursday).
