The 2021 National Women’s Football Championship began in empathic fashion at Karachi’s KMC Stadium and KPT Stadium on Tuesday, 9 March.

Many one-sided results happened on Day 1 featuring matches from Group A and Group B.

In Group A, strong favourites WAPDA hammered Gilgit WFC 14-0 at KMC Stadium while Hazara Girls Football Academy and Hazara Quetta Football Academy played a 0-0 draw.

Syeda Dua Gilani (2), Maria Jamila Khan (3), Fatima Ansari (2), Sanober (4), Sahar Zaman and Shanzay Nazir gave no respite to Gilgit as WAPDA started their title challenge strongly in the first one-sided result of the day at KMC Stadium.

The all-Hazara clash registered no score as both teams struggled to convert their chances into goals at KPT Stadium.

Group B saw last year’s finalist Karachi United and ambitious newcomers Masha United register merciless 19-0 wins over Karachi WFC and Sialkot City WFC respectively.

At KPT Stadium, Masha United’s three out of four Nepali internationals registered plenty of goals with Saru Limbu (9), Anita KC (6), and Gita Rana (1) all joining the scoresheet against Sialkot City.
