LAHORE: Sui Southern Gas Company beat Wohaib FC 3-0, Pakistan Air Force thrashed Nimso FC 6-0, SA Gardens stunned Masha United 2-1, while Hazara Coal Company shocked Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd 1-0 as the 2020 National Challenge Cup entered its seventh day on Sunday, 6 December.

At the Fame FC Ground in Lahore, SSGC dominated against strugglers Wohaib FC from the start of the match and were a goal up in the 24th minute thanks to a clinical strike by Mohammad Tahir. Ubaid doubled the lead for SSGC in the 34th minute scoring from a tight angle.

SSGC’s solid show continued in the second half and they confirmed their victory and qualification to the Round-of-16 from Group ‘F’ after Mohammad Lal scored their third goal in the 88th minute.

Earlier, in a shock result, SA Gardens defeated Pakistan Football Federation League ‘B’ Division Departmental Leg winners Masha United 2-1 in the Group ‘F’ match. Essa Bahader scored for the winners in the 30th and 62nd minutes.

Fareedullah helped Masha United cut the lead by a goal from the penalty spot in the 88th minute but it was not enough for the team. Masha United failed to qualify for the Round-of-16 after two defeats in row.

Pakistan Air Force also made it to the next round after a 6-0 thrashing of a young Nimso FC team in their Group ‘G’ match. After a goalless first half, the flood gates well and truly opened as PAF scored 5 goals in 16 minutes.

Mansoor Khan (50’), Faisal (54’, 56’), Samad Khan (59’, 66’) and Salman Khan (93’) scored for the winners PAF who are now top of their group with a game left.

The other Group ‘G’ match under lights saw Hazara Coal Company pull a major upset as they beat SNGPL 1-0. After a goalless first half, Sajjad (58′) gave the Quetta side the lead which Lahore’s SNGPL failed to overcome for the rest of the game due to poor finishing and missed chances.

The result essentially means Hazara Coal Company have one foot into the next round as they lie 2nd behind PAF with 4 points from 2 games, while SNGPL remain bottom after consecutive defeats.
