KRL, Army to meet in Challenge Cup quartefinals

LAHORE: Pakistan Army and Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) won their respective matches to book a spot in the 2020 National Challenge Cup quarter-finals as the Round-of-16 kicked off on Thursday, 10 December.

Defending champions Army beat Falcon Company 2-0 while KRL defeated Afghan FC Chaman 1-0. Both matches were played at the Punjab Stadium in Lahore. Army and KRL will meet in the quarter-final.

Army dominated throughout the match and were helped by Sarfraz’s header was spilled over the line by the Falcon goalkeeper in the 48th minute before team captain Ansar Abbas doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 55th minute.

For KRL, the only goal was scored was Umair Ali’s penalty in the 36th minute. The KRL forward won another penalty later in the match but was denied by the Afghan FC goalkeeper.

On Friday, Wapda play Karachi United while SA Gardens take on Hazara Coal Company in the 3rd and 4th Ro16 matches.
