Huma get win, KU and Railways play out draw in PFF League

LAHORE/KARACHI: Huma FC continued their winning run in the Pakistan Football Federation League ‘B’ Division Final Round Club Leg while in the Departmental Leg Karachi United drew Pakistan Railways in a thrilling encounter.

Huma FC remained in contention for winning the Club Leg after beating Wohaib FC 2-0 at the Punjab Stadium in Lahore with Ali Maihwan and Ammar Iqbal scoring in the 50th and 90th minute marks respectively.

Huma FC are now tied on points with Baloch FC Quetta with 12 points from 4 games, though Baloch FC have a better goal difference of +15 while Huma FC has +13. Wohaib remain on 0 points from 4 games, sharing bottom spot with Jeay Lal FC (Thatta).

Both teams will face each other in the last round of Club leg games on Thursday, 15 October to decide the sole Club Leg promotion spot for next year’s Pakistan Premier League. Young Ittefaq FC (Chaman) and Lyallpur FC (Faisalabad) will both have to settle for 3rd spot tussle.

At the Drigh Union Football Ground in Karachi, Karachi United and Pakistan Railways played a neck and neck game. After a goalless first half, the match ended up in a 2-2 draw.

Anees opened the scoring for Karachi United in the 59th minute before Hamza equalized for Pakistan Railways in the 62nd minute. Railways gained lead thanks to Amir Hussain’s strike soon after but it didn’t last long courtesy Amir’s goal for Karachi United.

The result meant Railways picked up their first point of the PFF League season after two games while Karachi United are on 4 points from 2 games.
