#KickOutTB: Leisure Leagues PK and National TB Program to organize celebrity match to raise awareness

National Tuberculosis Control Program (NTP) and Leisure Leagues Pakistan are set to organize a friendly game featuring celebrities, diplomats and members of the Pakistan Football Team on 10th April in Islamabad’s Total Football ground.

According to available statistics, Pakistan ranks fifth amongst the countries with the highest burden of tuberculosis and produces nearly 420,000 cases on annual basis.

Awareness is seen as one of the key elements that helps translate into reduction and prevention, which is why the National TB Program teamed up with Leisure Leagues Pakistan to use football as a tool to raise awareness about the disease. A 6-a-side game is planned at the famous Total Football facility in Chak Shahzad and is expected to feature an exciting line-up that is coming together for a good cause.

Among those making the team is singer Uzair Jaswal, former vice-captain of the Pakistan National Team Kamran Malik, Women’s team midfielder Asmara Kayani as well as Mubashir Sanjrani, who is skipper of the National Futsal Team.  Members of the diplomatic community including some ambassadors are expected to play and score goals for a notable cause.

The game is going to be open to the public and will take place on the coming Tuesday.
