Pakistan International Saqib Hanif signed for Maldives’ Maalhos F.C. for this season’s Dhivehi Premier League according to reports from the island.
Hanif, who has played for rivals B.G. Sports in the last two seasons, moved ship this season, claiming that he needed a new challenge for himself.
“I had offers from Dhivehi Premier League clubs, but i had a short time frame to return to Pakistan. SSGC are vying for top position and i wanted to have a smaller stint abroad so that i can be back on time,” added Saqib in an exclusive interview with FootballPakistan.com
“Maalhos F.C. are a new club and the management has high aims. It is a welcome challenge and i hope to help out in the best way i can.”
With PFF reinstated and Pakistan looking to resume football later this year, Saqib is focused on doing well and impressing selectors back home.
