Abdul FC & Neymarazil book berths in Neymar Jr’s Five National Finals

Karachi; January 8, 2018: The 2018th Pakistan edition of the Neymar Jr’s Five, the third of its kind in the country, is underway and like the first two seasons football enthusiasts are vying for glory with an incredible display of passion and skills.

The tournament is bigger than the last two editions as a total of two teams each from the two biggest cities in the country, Karachi and Lahore, are set to compete in the National Finals with a team each from Islamabad, Faisalabad, Multan and Peshawar.

The Karachi leg ended yesterday (January 7th) after five-action-packed days where 329 teams comprising of a total of 1782 players showed their talent in a victory bid for their respective teams.

Olympian Iftikhar Syed Sports Complex hosted the exciting leg as Abdul FC and Neymarazil sealed the two available spots from the city with a superb display of high intensity, action packed football.

The two Karachi outfits produced a stellar show to outwit their competitors displaying greater control, defence and scoring ability. Both teams would now be vying for the coveted Neymar Jr’s Five Pakistan Champions title on the Finals day.

The next leg is set to be staged in Multan from January 13th followed by Faisalabad from January 16th, Lahore January 19th, Islamabad January 25th, Peshawar February 1st and the National Finals in Lahore on February 5th.

After a rousing start in Karachi the tournament is expected to attract a large number of footballers in the remaining cities.  Neymar Jr’s Five that was introduced to Pakistan through the Red Bull platform in 2016 is aimed at providing a platform to young, aspiring footballers across the globe to showcase their skills first in their home country by competing in the city based qualifiers and National Finals. Once they pass through the National stage, the victorious team is given a lifetime opportunity of representing their country at the World Final in Brazil and that too at Neymar Jr.’s Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr in Praia Grande, Brazil.
