Karachi: The Aga Khan University (AKU) Sports Centre is organizing its 14th AKU Inter-University Football Tournament from Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the AKU Sports Centre Ground. Dr Hasnain Zafar, Associate Professor, Department of Surgery will formally inaugurate the tournament at 5:00 PM.
Ten Teams representing Institutions of Karachi are participating. The teams have been divided in four pools and the tournament round matches will be played on league basis and progress through group stages to Quarters, Semi’s and Final.
Pool A: Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) and host Aga Khan University (AKU).
Pool B: National University of Science & Technology (NUST-PNEC), Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science & Technology (SZABIST) and Pakistan Air Force Karachi Institute of Science & Technology (PAF-KIET).
Pool C: Hamdard University (HU), Institute of Business Management (IoBM) and Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET).
Pool D: Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and Dawood College of Engineering & Technology (DCET).
On the opening day Thursday, October 13, 2016, three matches will be played. NUST Vs. SZABIST (2:00 PM), HU Vs. SSUET (3:30 PM) and AKU Vs. DUHS (5:00 PM).
