QUETTA: Chaman and Quetta will clash in the final of the ongoing PPL Balochistan Football Cup-2016. Chaman steered into the final beating Loralai 2-0 in the first semi-final while Quetta beat Turbat in a nail biting second semi-final 2-1 at the Ayub Stadium here on Thursday.
One goal each by Chaman captain international Hayatullah and Abdul Waseh helped their team to beat Loralai in hotly contested first semi-final which was full of thrill and excitement. Hayat’s header in the 45th minute produced the first goal and in the 88th minute Abdul Waseh comprehensively beat the goalkeeper to score the second goal for Chaman.
Both teams played the game in the best sportsman spirit and demonstrated their skill and stamina in the middle. Loralai’s Midfielder Azizullah broke the defence in the 23rd minute but his hard kick was ably stopped by Hameedullah, the goalkeeper of Chaman.
The second half provided more entertainment to the spectators as both teams fought hard to outclass each other. Loralai’s Hayatullah made another attack in the 73rd minute which was beautifully tackled by Mohammed Tahir of Chaman. Yet another hard kick by Mirullah of Loralai hit the pole and went out.
Quetta Midfielder Behram Khan scored the opener in the 30th minute and Istaqlal headed a spectacular goal in the 81st minute. From Turbat, Shabir Taj kicked the lone goal in the 47th minute. Losers of the semi-finals were awarded a cash prize of Rs.250, 000 each by the sponsors.
