Chinar FC lift the peace cup by defeating ZES Academy team in penalty shoot outs at Jamrud Khyber Agency FATA.
The final event was played at Ghundi area of Jamrud sub division of Khyber Agency FATA where thousands of local spectators witnessed the tremendous football played by the both of the teams. According to organizers, more than 24 local teams hailing from Khyber Agency took part in the Peace Football Tournament 2016.
Both teams played a cagey final that ended goalless in official given time and had to play penalties. Chinar defeated ZES Academy 3-2 in penalty shootouts to win the trophy for 2016.
The Assistant Political Agent of Jamrud, Mr. Saif-ul-Islam was chief guest on this occasion who distributed cash prizes of Rs.10,000 each among the winners and runner-ups along with the organizers.
Addressing the players and youths in the ground, Saif-ul-Islam appreciated the efforts of local players and organizers for peace through football promotion. He assured each and every official facilities to the local players. He also said that there is huge talent in FATA as far as football is concerned but needs projection on national and international level.
The local office bearers of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) were also among the attendants who distributed trophies and shields among the players of the both of the teams.
