KARACHI: K-Electric’s Head of Sports Marketing and Brand Activation Zabe Khan has resigned from his post and is leaving for England, the country of his birth, on Monday (tomorrow).
“Yes, yesterday was my last day in office and I am shifting with my family to England where I spent the initial 16 years of my life,” Zabe told ‘The News’ here on Saturday. “Everyone from my family has been residing there and it is the right time for me too to move there permanently,” he added.
He said he was satisfied with his performance as the Head of Sports Marketing. “It was my dream to see K-Electric become the Premier League champions,” he said. “And I am very happy that we finally won the country’s major event last season,” he appended.
After emerging as the champions, K-Electric also did a fine job to overcome the first hurdle in their AFC Cup journey when they ended as the group winners in the AFC Cup play-offs qualifiers in Bhutan last summer.
They will now face Bahrain’s Al-Hidd on February 9 in Bahrain. If they beat the Bahrain’s club, they will join Al Wehdat of Jordon or Al Jazira of Jordon in the group stage, along with Al Ahed FC of Lebanon and Altyn Asyr of Turkmenistan.
