Landikotal FC were crowned the new football champions of tehsil Landikotal (Khyber Agency FATA) by defeating Bilal FC 5-4 in penalty kicks after the final match remained draw 1-1 in official given time.
The Tehsil Landikotal Football Tournament was organized by Tatara Sports Committee at Tatara Football Ground Landikotal where hundreds of local spectators witnessed the final competition among the two best teams of the region.
Ex General Secretary of FATA Olympic Association Shahid Shinwari and Malikzada Nadeem Afridi were the chief guests on this occasion who later on distributed trophies and cash prizes among the winners and runners-up players.
More than 30 local teams hailing from tehsil Landikotal participated in the tournament which took a month to complete.
Azeem Shinwari, key striker of winners Landikotal FC, told FPDC that he and his team key to success as tehsil level champions was playing flowing football with great combination and teamwork. He also appreciated the tough time given by their rivals Bilal FC.
This is very vital to be mention that Tatara Sports Ground is surrounded in the middle of local famous hills and having a very rough surface and ground with no facilities but in spite of this the local people are regularly organizing different football events throughout the years.
Significant crowds of football lovers witnessed the final between the two best teams of tehsil. The spectators not only enjoyed the great game played by the both of the teams but also demanded the construction of grassy ground and stadium so that local tribal footballers could play football more effectively.
