KARACHI: Pakistan’s experienced defender Nabil Aslam is likely to be watched by officials of a major Malaysian club when the current AB Copenhagen’s utility player represents Pakistan in a couple of matches against the hosts’ Under-19 and Under-23 teams in Kuala Lumpur on February 23 and 26.

‘The News’ has learnt through well-informed sources that the 30-year-old Denmark-based Nabil is eager to find a place in any club of Malaysia playing in a standard league.

A Pakistani coach has approached Malaysia’s leading club Selangor FA for Nabil and sources said the player now had to impress the club’s officials with his potential.

Nabil is part of Pakistan’s squad in Malaysia preparing for their World Cup qualifiers against Yemen next month.

Pakistan’s other experienced defender Zeeshan Rehman plays for Malaysia’s club Pahang FA.

After a productive five-year stint with Denmark’s Superliga club AC Horsens, Nabil has joined Denmark’s first division club AB Copenhagen for a short period.
