KARACHI: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) blasted their way into the semi-finals as group winners when they thrashed Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province 3-0 in their last Group A show of FATA International Peace Football Cup at the Qayyum Sports Complex in Peshawar on Wednesday. International striker Mohammad Mujahid emerged as the hero for the winners with a fine treble, the first of the tournament so far.

Mujahid landed goals in 55th, 61st and 76th minutes.

The second semi-finalists from the group will be decided after the game between Nangarhar province and FATA on Thursday (today). Meanwhile, the Group B show between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Police ended in a 1-1 draw, which left the pool wide open with all of the three sides having chance to make it to the semi-finals.

Safiullah opened the scoring for KP in the 28th minute, but Police fought back when Waseem scored an equaliser in the 52nd minute. Police will lock horns with Chaman’s Afghan FC in their last group show on Thursday (today).
