Karachi United to represent Pakistan at Anfield [The News]

KARACHI: Standard Chartered last week organised the final of the Anfield Football tournament. Three finalist teams, with seven players each from three major cities — Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad — battled to represent Pakistan at the Global Standard Chartered Trophy tournament.

Karachi United, comprising of the Bank’s customers, won the final match against the Islamabad team with a score of 3-2. The final of the tournament was held in Karachi.

The Pakistan team will be playing against 13 teams from across the Bank’s footprint in Asia, Africa and the Middle East and representing the Middle East region at the finals on May 13.

All the winning teams from the various regions will attend an English Premier League match at Anfield, and will receive a professional training session from Liverpool Football Club legends and coaches to help them prepare for the final tournament. The Standard Chartered Trophy ceremony will be held at Anfield after the final match.
