KARACHI: AMANSPORTS is partnering with the RealMadrid Foundation to establish a Social Sports School in Pakistan. AMANSPORTS, which will serve as the local implementation partner, seeks to impact 400 boys and girls from ages 6 to 17 through the program; whereas the RealMadrid Foundation (FRM) will provide the required knowledge and expertise to run the project. The first of these Schools is being opened in Ibrahim Hyderi from the second week of March.
The objective of setting up such schools is to foster sports, sports education, and sports professional training while removing social barriers and driving social integration. The proposed model will promote integrated development of children through sport and will offer social activities to complement sporting events, thereby inculcating in them a sense of belonging and security.
AMANSPORTS, is an initiative of the Aman Foundation. Inspired by the belief that play is a basic right, and the idea that sport is a powerful, transformative and learning experience, it has undertaken the mission of providing SPORTS FOR ALL. Due to a highly inefficient system and the near-absence of sports from the life of an average child across the socio-economic spectrum resulting in growing depression, dropouts, malnutrition, and poor literacy rates, sports has become a necessity that helps overcome these absences.
The Real Madrid Foundation is the instrument by which Real Madrid is present in society and develops its social and cultural awareness programmes. Its main objective is to promote, both in Spain as well as abroad, the values inherent in sport, and the latter’s role as an educational tool capable of contributing to the comprehensive development of the personality of those who practice it. In addition, as a means of social integration of those who find themselves suffering from any form of marginalisation, as well as to promote and disseminate all the cultural aspects linked to sport.
