KARACHI: Aman Foundation has joined hands with the Real Madrid Foundation in order to promote football at the community level in Pakistan.
The kits and gear will be provided by the Real Madrid Foundation, apart from technical assistance. Meanwhile, Aman Foundation will run the club locally.
“Our aim is to train the local youth and promote football in different communities,” said Murtaza Abbas.
“Two of our local players were sent to Spain two months ago. They have received training there and have become master trainers who will now impart their knowledge and skills to local players.”
Trained coaches will now work on the grassroot level, while the program will be unveiled on March 13.
The Real Madrid Foundation and Aman Foundation signed a letter of intent to promote football and basketball in the country. They signed the memorandum in November 2012.
