KARACHI: Army defeated Navy 2-0 in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) match on Tuesday in Lahore.

The winners took the lead in the first minute of the game with Mubasshir Hussain’s goal, while Sadaf Iqbal sealed victory for the team in the 61st.

With the win, Army climbed to the seventh position, replacing KPT with 29 points.

Army also registered their seventh win of the season; they have drawn eight and lost three out of 18 matches they have played so far.

Meanwhile, Navy lost their 13th match yesterday. They slumped to 10th place with 27 points after 26 matches.

In the second match of the day, HBL received a walk-over against ZTBL, who have decided to quit the league due to financial constraints. HBL moved to the ninth spot with 27 points after playing 24 matches According to a Pakistan Football Federation official, ZTBL have confirmed their relegation from the league.

“The points for the remaining ZTBL matches will be awarded to their opposing team,” the official told The Express Tribune.
