KARACHI, Dec 15: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) got their campaign back on track in the Group of Five round of the Departmental Leg of the Pakistan Football Federation League (PFFL) after a second-half blitz saw them thrash Karachi United 4-0 here on Sunday.

Having lost their opening game 1-0 to Pakistan Police on Friday, SSGC scored four times in the second-half to ease past Karachi United here at the KPT Stadium.

Amanullah opened the scoring in the 52nd minute before Zakir Lashari doubled SSGC’s lead three minutes later. Mohammad Lal made it 3-0 for SSGC in the 65th before Mohammad Imran Junior completed the rout seven minutes from time.

The victory put SSGC a point behind the five-team mini-league leaders Higher Education Commission (HEC) who followed their 1-1 draw with Karachi United in their opening game with a 2-1 victory over Pakistan Railways earlier at the KPT Stadium.

The winners of the Group of Five round will earn a place in next season’s Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) and will play the winners of the Club Leg to decide PFFL champions.

HEC prevailed over Railways with two late goals in the space of two minutes.
