KARACHI, Nov 20: PMC Athletico and Wohaib FC begin their bid to return to the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) in Groups ‘A’ and ‘B’ of the club leg of the second-tier Pakistan Football Federation League (PFFL) from Dec 8.

Relegated from the mainstream PPFL last season, PMC and Wohaib could yet clash in the final mini-league from the club leg which will see the winners from Groups ‘A’ to ‘C’ clash for the title — and a spot in next season’s premier division.

The club-leg winners will then clash with the winners of the departmental leg to decide the PFFL winners.

The departmental-leg, which kicks off on Nov 29, sees 15 teams divided into five groups of three each. The five group winners too will take part in a departmental mini-league to decide winners from that section.

The highlight of the departmental qualifying round draw sees Karachi United clash with Pakistan Steel and Insaf Afghan GTC in Group ‘B’.

Pakistan Police, who were relegated from the PPFL in 2011, are in Group ‘C’. SSGC, whose place in the PPFL was taken by Police for the 2011 season, are in Group ‘A’.
