ZTBL stun National Bank [DAWN]

KARACHI, Oct 25: The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) missed a chance to go clear in second place in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) standings after they fell to a shock 1-0 loss to the Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) here on Friday.

Naeem scored the only goal of the match in the fifth minute at the Korangi Baloch Stadium as Nasir Ismail’s NBP side remained third, level on 16 points with second-placed Wapda.

The ZTBL, meanwhile, moved out of the relegation places with the victory and now have 11 points from 10 games. The bottom six teams in this season’s PPFL will be relegated.

Pakistan Navy missed the chance to move out of the relegation zone after they fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Lyallpur FC when Haider Ali scored the 80th-minute winner at the KPT Stadium. They remain on nine points, one ahead of Lyallpur.

Baloch FC are a further point behind Lyallpur after they also succumbed to a late goal, losing 1-0 to the Habib Bank Limited (HBL) at the KMC Stadium courtesy Atif’s strike in the 75th minute.

With the win, the HBL moved to sixth place, level on 15 points with the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) who have a better goal difference.
