KARACHI, Oct 1: Pakistan Navy’s Asif Baksh hit a stunning hat-trick as they held Pakistan Premier Football League leaders Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) to an entertaining 3-3 draw in the lone match of the country’s top division here on Tuesday.

In an end-to-end match here at the KPT Stadium, KESC stormed into a 2-0 lead in the opening 17 minutes before Navy rallied to level matters. KESC then took a 3-2 lead before Asif completed his treble in the 73rd to ensure a share of the points.

KESC, who went into the match looking to extend their lead at the top to four points, took the lead through Abdul Rehman in the second minute after a frenetic opening caused Navy all sorts of trouble.

Ace striker Mohammad Rasool hit their second as Navy looked out-of-sorts in front of a rampant KESC attack.

But the seamen held on and Asif brought them back in the game when he struck in the 38th before they drew level three minutes into the second-half when he struck his second.

Rasool’s second in the 52nd put KESC ahead yet again but Asif intervened again as Navy moved to five points from seven games.

KESC, meanwhile, moved to 18 points from eight games and hold a two-point lead over Wapda.—Sports Reporter
