KARACHI, Aug 12: Pakistan’s Sardar Naveed Haider Khan is now in the company of football legends Diego Maradona and Ronaldinho.

Pakistan Football Federation’s marketing consultant was on Monday named the Goodwill Ambassador in Pakistan by the ‘Football for Peace’ organization which aims at spreading the message of peace in conflict-stricken regions of the world through football.

The organization was formed from the collaboration and vision of two International Charities, the Gol Iluminado Foundation from USA & Chile and the Kashif Siddiqi Foundation (KSF) which is based in England.

Football For Peace works as an organized commitment of Goodwill, working on concrete ‘Education Through Sport Legacy’ initiatives, assisting the United Nations Sport for Development and Peace.

Their Goodwill Ambassadors’ list boasts of stellar names including Argentine superstar Maradona and Brazilian sensation Ronaldinho.

Amongst others are Pakistan International Kashif Siddiqi, who is their goodwill ambassador in the United Kingdom, and former US international Eric Wynalda.

“I will continue my association with the PFF and work towards the promotion of the game in the country,” Sardar Naveed told Dawn.

“With Football For Peace being launched in Pakistan, it would hopefully become a great project for the under-privileged players here.”
