Ist SBP Inter School Independence Day Cup Football Tournament 2013 is scheduled to begin from 23rd August being organized by Sports Committee, State Bank of Pakistan at Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground Garden West.
The knock out tournament featuring 8 teams of ‘A’ Level Nixor College, South Shore, Lyceum, Foundation Public School, St. Michaels, City PAF and Cordoba and 16 Teams of ‘O’ Level Hamdard Public School, St. Michaels, Army Public, Foundation Public, City PAF, City North Nazimabad, BVS Parsi, City Darkhshan, Beacon house PECHS, Jaffer Public, Head Star, Generations, Fatmia, CAS, Bay view High and Happy Home will be played separately in two different category events. At the open draw held at SBP Conference Hall, Head Office on 15th August.
According to the Organizing Secretary Mr. Zaheer ul Hassan, Manager Sports, SBP formal opening ceremony of the event held on 23rd August at Moin Khan Cricket Academy ,DHA at 5 pm. Mr. Muhammad Haroon Raseed, Managing Director SBP-BSC\Executive Director (FRM) inaugurating the tournament by a formal kick on the ball as Chief Guest. Also joining of the opening of the event will be the EVP & Head of Sports Division, National Bank of Pakistan and Hero of Bangalore Test Mr. Iqbal Qasim and Mr. Nadeem Khan, Former Test Cricketer as special guest.
Regular Tournament matches of ‘A’ & ‘O’ Level start from 25th August at Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground, Garden West (Near Zoo) simultaneously. 6 match each on 25th & 26th August from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm while 2 match each from 27th to 29th August from 2 to 5 pm. The event concludes on 30th August.
The Organizing Committee nominated Mr. Murad Hussain, Coordinator and Mr. Riaz Ahmed, responsible for looking after Print and Electronic Media as well as posting of Match Officials.
