Balochistan in under-16 football quarters

KARACHI: Balochistan blasted their way into the quarter-finals after defeating Lahore Youth 1-0 in their Group C match of the National Under-16 Football Championship at the Kunj Stadium in Abbottabad on Wednesday.

Kabir scored the winner in the 73rd minute. Balochistan will take on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the quarter-final on Friday (tomorrow).

In a Group B outing, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa outgunned Karachi Youth 2-1 to top the pool with six points. Karachi Youth lost both their matches to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but have already qualified for the last eight stage because there are only two teams in the group.

After a tough goalless first half, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa went ahead through an excellent strike from Aminullah in the 67th minute. Mohammad Ali doubled their lead in the 81st minute. Karachi Youth hit the consolation goal when Rashid Raza capitalised on a good cross just before the final whistle.

Karachi Youth will lock horns with Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) in the second quarter-final, also to be held on Friday.Hosts Abbottabad have already made it to the knockout stage from Group A with four points, while Sindh have qualified from Group D.

SINDH BEAT QUETTA YOUTH BY 3-0.

National U-16 Football Championship, 2013 match # 10 was won by Sindh which was played at Kunj Football Stadium, Abbottabad.

According to the press release issued here by PFF. The tenth match of the championship was played between the Quetta Youth and Sindh (Group D). The match was won by the Sindh Football Team by 3:0 score. The first goal scored by Munir Ahmed in the 41st minute, and the two goals scored by Aamir in the 47th minute & 90th minute of the match. Quetta Youth are out of the championship.

 Sindh and Gilget Baltistan Football teams have qualified for the Quarter Finals from Group D. The final of the National U-16 Football Championship, 2013 will be played on 18th June, 2013 at Kunj Football Stadium, Abbottabad.
