Al-Shabaz raced to 2-0 lead after 20 minutes thanks to goals from Abdul Rehman (11′) and Muhammad Noor (19′). But Kalri Star struck back to equalise by half time with a 25-yard strike from defender Zubair Faiz (25′) and a goal by Muhammad Habib (42′). In 2nd half, M Noor (67′) scored again to make it 3-2 to Al-Shabaz. But Kalri Star’s substitute Owais Ibrahim struck twice (70′ and 74′) in quick succession to complete the comeback for a memorable 4-3 in the end.
In another game at same ground, Azam Sports (Drigh Road) edged Baloch Youth (Garden) 1-0 in a close contest thanks to Saleemullah’s lone goal (42′) from an Aqeel Khan pass.
Referees were Anees Akhtar, M Umar, Abdul Latif, and Imran Hussain with match commissioner HM Hanif.
The results meant Kalri Star have 9 points and Al-Shabaz have 3 points from 5 games each. Azam Sports have 7 points while Baloch Youth have 4 points from 4 games each. The KFL games will continue after conclusion of general elections to be held on 11 May 2013.
