According to the press release issued here by PFF, Pakistan and Iran were in sight to qualify for the final round before the start of the match. Both teams dominated the Group D without losing a single match and crush every opponent which they faced. Iran which has the home advantage was confident but consistent Green Shirts showed no pressure and continued their previous magnificent form in alien conditions.

Pakistan tried to bulldoze the hopes of confident Iran by a better planning and offensive strategy under the expert coaching but couldn’t overcome the mighty Iran. It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan showed to the football family that despite limited resources as compare to Iran, Pakistan youth team is far superior.

President PFF, Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat showed great pleasure on the devotion of the Pakistani team. He was thrilled with the effort of PFF in coaching of the players and training being given to them by their coaches.

Lt. Col. ® Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi said that the performance confirms that at youth level, the players have the will and zeal to compete. Pakistan deserves full credit for such performance as they defied all odds before the tournament to guide the Green to a historic result.
