KARACHI: Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) received a heavy blow ahead of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President’s Cup when their star striker Muhammad Rizwan Asif developed a hair-line fracture in his leg, the same injury which had kept him out of action for almost a year.
“Yes, Rizwan once again had a fracture while playing a practice game,” KRL coach Tariq Lutfi told ‘The News’ from Rawalpindi on Tuesday, 9 April 2013.
“Rizwan had recovered and was running and shooting well. But unfortunately his hair-line fracture recurred,” Lutfi said.
Rizwan, who is one of the finest strikers of the country, had missed the whole Premier League last season. Despite attending the national team’s camp twice he had failed to satisfy Pakistan’s Serbian coach Zavisa Milosavljevic with his fitness.
