Pakistan invited to play football matches in England

KARACHI: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has received an invitation from an India-based company for a couple of matches which the Greenshirts are supposed to play against India and Bangladesh in England in June.

However, a PFF top official said that they would go only after getting full guarantee from the company wanting to stage these matches.

“We will look at it and go there if it benefits our players,” the official told this correspondent.

Pakistan are supposed to face India in England on June 4 and Bangladesh on June 7, both FIFA days.

In 2011, too, an England-based company had planned a bilateral series between Pakistan and India, but they had to cancel it at the eleventh hour after the organisers failed to get the required sponsorship. Pakistan team had also got visas for the tour.
