Pak Steel beat Azam Sports on penalties 2-0 in final of All-Pakistan National Bank Football Cup 2013 at Colony Sports Stadium in Malir, Karachi.
The final was held on 25 Feb 2013 and featured NBP executive vice-president and sports legend Iqbal Qasim as chief guest.
The tense final had finished 0-0 before Pak Steel held their resolve to win 2-0 in the shoot-out. Azam Sports missed all 4 penalties while Pak Steel missed 2 and scored twice for victory. Pak Steel had beaten Bacha Khan Shaheed FC (Chaman) and Azam Sports had beaten NBP in the semi-finals.
Pak Steel’s Tariq Jr. was named Player of the Tournament, goalkeeper Aamir Wali was Best Goalkeeper, Azam Sports’ PIA loan signing Shakir Lashari was Man of the Final, SSGC’s Sabir Khan was given Best Play Award, while Azam Sports’ young star Naveed Ullah was given a special trophy.
