Karachi Football Round-up

Karachi United FC and Aman Foundation jointly announced plans to organise the first ever Karachi United Girls School Football Championship from 16 February 2013 onwards at Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground in Garden West, Karachi.

A total of 8 teams have been divided in two groups of 4 teams each. The top 2 teams from each group will qualify for semi-finals. Group A features City School Darakhshan, Fatima Jinnah School, Lyceum School, and Foundation Public School. Group B has Indus Academy, Bayview High School, Southshore, and Aga Khan School.

According to organising secretary Riaz Ahmed, the match schedule is:

16 Feb: TCS Darakhshan vs Fatima Jinnah, Lyceum vs FPS, Indus Academy vs Bayview High, Southshore vs Aga Khan School

17 Feb:  TCS Darakhshan vs Lyceum, Fatima Jinnah vs FPS, Indus Academy vs Southshore, Bayview High vs Aga Khan School

18 Feb: TCS Darakhshan vs FPS, Fatima Jinnah vs Lyceum, Indus Academy vs Aga Khan School, Southshore vs Bayview High.

7th All Pakistan National Bank Football Cup 2013

Shaheed Eid Muhammad Noshzai FC (Dalbandin) and Khyber Muslim FC (Baldia Town) qualified for the semi-finals of the 7th All Pakistan National Bank Football Cup 2013.

At Colony Sports Stadium in Malir, Karachi, the first two quarter-finals were played on 7 Feb 2013.

Noshzai beat fellow Balochistan side United FC (Mastung) 2-0 with goals from Noor Ahmed (23′) and Shukarullah (34′). Khyber Muslim then beat Karachi League champions Burma Mohammedan (Korangi) 2-0 with goals from Farooq in each half.

Both semi-finals will be played on 9 Feb 2013 with final of club round on 10 February.

All-Pakistan Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Football Cup 2013, Muhammadi Stadium (Memon Goth, Karachi)

2 more games of the event were decided. Malir Reds beat Rashid Shaheed FC 5-3. Farhan scored a hat-trick while Anees scored twice for Malir Reds. Younas and Zafar (2) responded for Rashid Shaheed.

The Malir Star vs Qazzafi Green game was given as a walkover to Malir Star after Qazzafi Green fielded ineligible players and were immediately disqualified, indefinitely suspended, and fined Rs 5000 by DFA Malir secretary Shahid Taj.

The winner sides qualified for next round.
