Pakistan Railways and Higher Education Commission (HEC) won their respective matches in the PFF League 2012 – Department Phase, Group D yesterday 1 December 2012 at Lahore.
At Railways Stadium in Garhi Shahue, Railways had to come from behind to beat Social Welfare (Chaman) at their home turf. Social Welfare took a 1-0 lead after just 3 minutes through Abdul Manan. But Railways were quick to respond when striker Majid equalised just 2 minutes later. Majid then scored again in 34th minute to make it 2-1 for Railways as the former national champions held on for the win till the end to boost their chances for a return to the top division.
At Fame FC Ground in Model Town A&B, HEC were in full control as they breezed past hapless Pakistan Television (PTV) 3-0. After a goalless first half, HEC struck thrice through Umair Ali (63′), Mazhar (66′), and Khurram Shahzad (90′) to beat PTV in the end.
With no games scheduled for today, Sunday 2 December, PFF League continues on Monday with Social Welfare facing Faisalaabad’s Bhatti United at Fame FC Ground while Railways host HEC at Railways Stadium.
