Gwadar Port Authority enter Last 8 of NBP Peace Cup

The All-Pakistan NBP Peace Football Cup at Shaheed Abdur Rehman Baloch Football Stadium in Gabol Park, Lyari (Karachi) saw Gwadar Port Authority edge past Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) 2-1 to qualify for the quarter-finals. Mohsin Akbar and Sajid Jehangir scored for the Gwadar side while Shah Zeb scored for KWSB.

Gwadar Port Authority completed their 3 group stage games with 2 wins and a draw to finish top of Group A comfortably on 7 points. KWSB have just 1 point from 2 games.

Group B saw DFA Hyderabad beat Sindh Govt Press (SGP) in a thrilling encounter 4-3. DFA Hyderabad had previously suffered a humiliating 0-3 defeat at the hands of DFA West earlier in the NBP Peace Cup but they rallied hard to beat SGP. Goals from M Fahim, Shahid Baloch, Ali Nawaz, and Abdul Hameed helped DFA Hyderabad win the tie, while SGP managed goals from Bahadur Ali, Imran Ali, and Akhtar Ali.

The result left DFA Hyderabad with 3 points from 2 games while SGP remain without points after 2 successive defeats.

The All-Sindh Qazi Abdur Rasheed Bhatti Invitational Football Tournament, being held by Pak Sports FC at Municipal High School Ground in Nawabshah, saw Young Baloch FC (Nawabshah) hammer Shaheen FC (Tando Allahyar) 3-0.

A marvellous hat-trick from Hafeez Baloch helped Young Baloch earn the win and qualify for next round. Tando Allahyar side Shaheen FC had numerous chances to reduce the deficit in match but poor finishing cost them dearly.
