Two more matches have been decided in All Karachi Saqib Kazmi Memorial six a side Flood-lit Football Tournament at U.P. Gymkhana Football Ground, North Karachi here on Saturday 13.10.2012.
Gulshan Soccer Academy defeated Young Muslim (Orangi) 1-0 on tie breaker while Gulshan Soccer FC beat Golden Star (New Karachi) 1-0. Both the winners moved into next round.
Gulshan Soccer Academy and Young Muslim (Orangi) encounter remained locked 0-0 in the stipulated time. Both the teams played splendidly but failed to score.
To make the match decisive, five penalty kicks awarded to each side, Muddasir Sabir of GSA scored only goal of this session. Faiz, Sameer & Zahid of GSA and Zakir, Yousuf, Mirza, Irfan and Idrees of Young Muslim failed to beat their respective goalkeepers.
Mr. Sher Afsar Khan (Babu), Vice President of DFA South was the Chief Guest while Mohammad Shamim, Vice President DFA Central, Riaz Ahmed, KUFF Admin & Media Manager, National Referee Ghulam Ali and others were also present on the occasion.
Gulshan Soccer Football Club beat Golden Star after thrilling encounter 1-0. Striker Ali Ahsan scored the match winner by beating the goalkeeper Sunny with a powerful drive. Gulshan Soccer FC were 1-0 ahead at half time.
After the breather, tough fight was witnessed and especially Izhar, Moosa and Yasir of Golden Star made some bold attempts, but failed to bring an equaliser as Gulshan Soccer FC defenders did a fine job in the deep.
Referee Babar Khan and Mohammad Hanif supervised the mathces while Khalid Majeed was the Match Commissioner.
