Exclusive FPDC Interview with U17 Bundesliga champion Sami Malik

We at FootballPakistan.Com had again the chance to talk to German U-17 Bundesliga Champion Sami Malik, just after the new season started.

Sami moved to Eintracht Braunschweig U-19 in the 2012/2013 season after having won the U17 title with previous side Hertha BSC.

FootballPakistan.Com (FPDC):

Sami, congratulations on becoming german champion with winning the U-17 Bundesliga in the last season with Hertha BSC Berlin. How do you feel and how did you celebrate the win?

Sami Malik (SM):

Thank you very much. It was really great, we played a great season and then finally won the Bundesliga. After that we celebrated the trophy with a big dinner and party.

FPDC:

What made you move to Eintracht Braunschweig and how do you get along there?

SM:
Hertha did not offer me a new contract, there I decided to move to Braunschweig where I also live now. I moved from Berlin to Braunschweig and also changed my college for that. My team members are very nice and I get along very good. We play in the U-19 Regionalliga.

FPDC:

What aims do you have for this season?

SM:

I want to win the “Conti-Cup” which is the biggest tournament for youth teams in my province Niedersachsen. For me especially I want to train hard and get better and better.

FPDC:

How is your season going on?

SM:

The season didn’t start well though. But now the team knows each other and we get better. We won our last matches. I have not scored a goal yet and I want to change that despite I have had many assists yet.

FPDC:

Did the football standard change?

SM:

Yes, there is a big change from U-17 to U-19 because the U-19 football is more physical and with a higher ball-winning ability. I really like it and can compete with that. All players are taller and stronger.

FPDC:

Do you have any contact to your first team which plays in the 2nd Bundesliga?

SM:

Unfortunately not.

We thank Sami Malik for his time and wish him best of luck for the ongoing season.
