GSA D Goal witness Busy Sunday

On Sunday 5th August, three more teams were able to make it to last 16.

1- Victoria FC 0 – 0 Crazy Joj (Crazy Joj 3-0 on penalties)

Star Performer – Saeed (Crazy Joj) – Very controlled match from the vocal leader of the team.

What a tough start to the day as both teams cancelled each other out and some how the ball was kept out of the net. Crazy Joj went close with a couple of long shots from Saeed and Faisal of Victoria FC continued to dribble his way but some extreme wayward finishing let the Victoria FC team down. Finally the match went to penalties and it was a nail biting affair. Danial and Saddam kept there cool before Naeem sealed it with the third and final penalty.

2- Gulshanacticos 6 vs 1 Karachi Falcons

Star Performer – M. Saiq (Gulshanacticos) – Another Captain delivering the goods, with two fatal strikes.

This game was after a long wait for the two teams but the two teams were surely fired up. The Gulshanacticos started of brilliantly from the outset with two early strikes from Saiq, the captain of the Guslhanacticos. The blows were fatal and then Gulshanacticos started to turn the screws with attack after another. Samad, Shehzad all scored in the first half to make the scoreline 5-0 at the half. The second half was a balanced contest as Gulshanacticos preserved energy and young Shariq Khattak of Karachi Falconx sneaked in a consolation and this bought a cheer from the crowd.

3- Galacticos 6 – 2 NNFC

Star Performer – Mehmood R9 (Galacticos) – All action GSC midfielder scored two set, up two and saved two. Did all :-).

Late in the night NNFC and Galacticos kicked off the last contest and the game was at a good pace. Ghazi and Hamza of NNFC combined well, and Barra and Mehmood ran the show for Galacticos. The two time finalists and one time winners took the lead through a sneaky shot by Mehmood. The second half was a great restart by NNFC as goals started to leak on both ends and within five minutes Mudi of Galacticos made it 3-2. The lapse in concentration by the NNFC team then started a late flurry of goals as Barra and Sameer also sneaked in to score. Finally the score was 6-2 but it was a balanced contest unlike the scoreline and Ghazi was very good for NNFC.
