On 13th and 14th August, two more Quarter Finals were completed of 7th GSA D-Goal Ramazan Football Tournament in Karachi.
1- Gunners FC 0 – 0 Mario Bros. (Gunners FC win 3-1 on penalties)
Star Player – Aqib (Gunners FC) – The young striker was in sizzling form and carved chance after another with quick decisive movement. He might not have scored but did score the winning penalty.
The game which was hit by the news of Star player Irfan Junejo of Mario Bros. not being able to play due to an injury and thus Mario Bros. fielded a side which might have lacked fire power but had plenty of toughness. An end to end first half as the score stayed nil nil. In the second it was one way traffic as Gunners FC pulled away and produced some great movement but to there amazement they somehow failed to score. Incredible misses in front of goal. Hamza of Mario Bros. kept fighting till the end and produced a couple of great last ditch tackles from Imran of Gunners FC. In the penalties Gunners FC held there nerves to win an amazing game of football.
2- Shahbaz FC 1 – 0 Lazy Boys
Star Player – Hayat (Shahbaz FC) – The giant defender produced a very good performance and did what his forwards could not do. Score.
This was another game which was short in goals but high on drama. Lazy Boys had a plan to keep it tight and despite being down at the half one nil to a deflected effort from Hayar, they seemed more then capable of equalizing. Ammar and Azhar had a couple of great chances and they missed and Six Goal man Abid also missed a penalty for Shahbaz FC but as the final whistle came Lazy Boys had amazingly failed to win.
Fixtures – 15th August – Semi Finals
1- Gunners FC vs Free Stylers
Top Defense meets Top Offense. Free Stylers helped by Ghassan and Mehtab have scored 18 goals and Gunners FC have conceded just twice and have clean sheets in the last two games. It will be a close game and only a couple of goals will be enough to win this one.
2- Shahbaz FC vs All Stars
Both teams are very balanced on both ends and both are led by couple of good goal scorers. Shahrukh and Amin power the All Stars while Abid and Imran lead the attack for Shahbaz FC. The winner will need to score atleast 3 goals in this one to claim it.
Top Player Nominations – Lot of players are in the running and thus the nominations will be announced after the semi finals.
Top Goal Scorers – Ghassan 10 and Mehtab 8 (Free Stylers), Abid 6 (Shahbaz FC), Shahrukh 3 (All Stars)
