National Fighter reach All-Karachi Ali Asghar Football final

The All-Karachi Secretary Ali Asghar Invitational Football Tournament 2012, hosted by Hazara Mohammadan FC (Shah Faisal) saw National Fighter (Kala Pul) stun Sajidi Mohammadan (Safari Park) in first semi-final on penalties.

Both teams presented good football in the semi-final (5 July 2012) but failed to score in normal time as penalty shoot-out was forced. National Fighter held their nerve and won the shoot-out 4-2 as Aziz ur Rehman, Waqar, Tahir Aziz, and Tahir Qadri successfully converted their penalties while only Rafique and Imran could score for Sajidi Mohammadan. Match referee was Saeed Khan.

The game was witnessed by an excited crowd as well as chief guest Riaz Ahmed (KUFF administrator, FPDC journalist, football organiser) and Muhammad Rahim (senior vice-president of DFA Karachi East) who were introduced to both teams by tournament organising secretary Khalid Tanoli. Also present were other senior officials from DFA East.

National Fighter had previously beaten Sultanabad Union 2-0 in quarter-finals while Sajidi Mohammadan had thrashed Tanzeem Sports (Gizri) 4-0. The 2nd semi-final will be played between Azam Sports and All Brothers (Malir).
