KARACHI: Top Danish football club AC Horsens received a major blow before their third qualifying round of the 2012-13 UEFA Europa League when their key Pakistani defender Nabil Aslam got injured.

The reports suggest that Nabil will have to rest for three or four weeks. Aslam got injured in the Danish Superliga game between AC Horsens and Silkerborg on Friday night, which the former won 2-0.

“This is a fiber pre-stretching of the spring. It went wrong in connection with a pass. And it is incredibly bitter when you look at the programme that lies ahead. Not least the fighting in the Europa League, I had really looked forward to. But now smoking the first enough,” Nabil said.

Mads Agesen, which has struggled with injuries during his time in AC Horsens, replaced Aslam after one quarter against Silkeborg. Nabil desires to make an international debut for Pakistan. Pakistan’s Serbian coach Zavisa Milosavljevic is also keen to watch the player and might rope in him for Pakistan duty as the country needs such players for raising its football standard.

Several other Denmark-based players of Pakistani origin such as Hasan Bashir and Mohammad Ali are also interested in playing for Pakistan. Goalkeeper Yousuf Butt has already represented Pakistan.
