DMC Central 7-a-side Floodlit Tournament begins

On the directions of DMC Central’s Nazir Lakhani the National Soccer Academy Ground in Paposh is hosting the DMC Central 7-a-side Floodlit Football Tournament. The opening game saw Frontier City (Banaras) beat Korangi Gymkhana 4-3 to qualify for next round of the 32 team knock out event.

Korangi Gymkhana had the advantage by half time as they went 2-1 ahead thanks to goals from Rehan Ansari (8′) and Aneel Ansari (10′) with Tanveer Khan (17′) scoring for Frontier City. In 2nd half, Haider Khan (21′) equalised to make it 2-2 in but Aziz Baloch (29′) made Korangi Gymkhana go 3-2 up.

However, late goals from Tariq Khan (29′) and Shahid Khan (35′) helped Frontier City complete comeback and get a 4-3 win at the end. Referees were Babar Khan and match commissioner Khalid Majeed.

The event was opened was Sindh Sports Board director Mushtaq Ahmed as chief guest. Others present were KUFF administrator and media manager Riaz Ahmed, organising secretary Arshad Jamal, ex-international Agha Saeed, M Qasim, vice-president DFA Central M Shamim, coordinator Aga Khan Gymkhana M Sohail et al.
