Karachi United win Haq Parast U16 final

Karachi United FC’s young guns beat hosts Young Muslim (Orangi) 2-0 in the final to win the Haq Parast U16 Football Tournament at Young Muslim Mini Football Stadium in Orangi #5, Karachi. After a scoreless first half, goals from Wasim Jr. (38′) and M Ubaid’s header (52′) from a Ali Raza corner sealed the title for Karachi United against their hapless hosts. Referee was Lala Javed

The match was attended by Saifuddin Khalid (MPA Sindh, MQM) who distributed the winners and runners-up trophies to the respective finalists, with Young Muslim president M Israr handing out Rs 2000 to winners Karachi United, with Rs 1000 for runners-up Young Muslim.

Chief guest Saifuddin Khalid spoke on the occasion, praising the Karachi United Football Foundation (KUFF) for their tremendous work in finding talent from the deprived areas of Karachi for Karachi United’s academies. He mentioned how two boys from Baldia Town and Manghopir now are part of the Karachi United setup, and toured Qatar with the team a few months back to get training at some of the top facilities in the world, and hopefully they will become top-class athletes in the coming years.

MPA Saifuddin Khalid then gave a formal invite to ceremony president and KUFF administrator Riaz Ahmed to establish a Karachi United Academy in his Orangi Town constituency, where a dedicated football ground will be set up for the academy’s establishment. He wished that in near future KUFF’s dedicated coaches will also impart top-level training to young footballers from Orangi Town as well.
