Korangi Baloch confirm KFL semis spot

Korangi Baloch (Sharafi) eased past struggling FC Rovers (Malir Cantt) with a whooping 6-0 score to confirm a place in the semi-finals of the 9th Karachi Football League 2011-12.

The KFL Super League stage encounter between the two sides yesterday, 17 April 2012, at Korangi Baloch Stadium in Sharafi (Karachi) was a very one-sided match. Home side Korangi Baloch finished their Super League quota of 7 matches with 12 points to reach the final 4 stage.

Korangi Baloch went on the offensive from the beginning, although they went 1-0 up just before half-time with a goal from Aqeel Ahmed from a Zain ul Abideen pass. During the break, both teams met chief guest Ustad Tufail Niazi from Nawabshah.

Korangi Baloch then went 2-0 up when Muhammad Saeed scored in 52nd minute, before Abdul Hafeez made it 3-0 in 61st minute.

Rovers matters were made worse after they went down to 8 men in 4 minutes (76-80′) after red cards for captain Ammar Sharif, Arif Shehzad, and Usama Noor for misbehaving and fighting with the referee Yousaf Mansoori. This allowed Korangi Baloch to score three more times with Rovers goalkeeper M Junaid out of position for rest of the match. Aqeel Ahmed (82′), Abdul Wahid (88′), and Abdul Hafeez (89′) completed a 6-0 rout for Korangi Baloch.

Match commissioner H.M.Hanif took note of match referee’s report about the behaviour and requested to DFA Malir to take strict disciplinary action against the misbehaving players. Organising Secretary Riaz Ahmed forwarded the request for action.

Referees were Yousaf Mansoori, Babar Khan, and Ahmed Mian.

Karachi United will face Baloch Youth Garden at 7 pm on 19.4.2012 (Thursday) at Baloch Mujahid Stadium Ibrahim Hydri.
