Baloch Youth win Hamara Karachi 7-side final

Baloch Youth FC (Garden) won the Hamara Karachi 7-a-side Football Festival 2012 final after beating hosts National Soccer 1-0 yesterday, 9 April 2012, at National Soccer Ground in Paposh, Karachi.

Saramad Jafar’s lone goal proved to be enough for Baloch Youth to be crowned champions after a tense tussle with National Soccer. National Soccer Juniors beat Gulshan Soccer 2-0 to get 3rd place thanks to goals from Noman Tahir and Shabir. Referees were Habib Ullah, Babar Khan, and match commissioner Abdul Karim.

The final was attended by Karachi District Central administrator Nazir Lakhani as chief guest, who handed out prizes to the respective teams and players at the end. Baloch Youth got winning trophy and Rs 5000 prize money,  National Soccer got 2nd place trophy and Rs 3000 prize.

Nazir Lakhani also spoke about the importance of encouraging sports as a means of giving the youth an opportunity to focus on healthy activities and ensure peace in the area. Nazir Lakhani also vowed to support all football activities in District Central and declared that the construction of kit room and washrooms at National Soccer Ground have been directed to the local municipal commissioner. He also thanked the organisers of a successful Hamara Karachi 7-side Tournament

Also present in the occasion were Kamal Mustafa (District Central Municipal Commissioner), Mushtaq Ahmed (Sindh Sports Board director), Raziq H Rabbani (Sindh Sports Board consultant), members from DFA West and DFA Central, and officials of Gulshan Soccer and National Soccer clubs.
