Baloch Youth, Kalri Star win in KFL Super League

The 9th Karachi Football League 2011-12 Super League round saw Baloch Youth (Garden) and Kalri Star (Lyari) record victories in their respective games yesterday, 13 April 2012.

Baloch Youth beat Al-Shabaz (Korangi) 1-0 at Korangi Baloch Stadium (Sharafi), while Kalri Star beat FC Rovers (Malir Cantt) 3-1 at Baloch Mujahid Stadium (Ibrahim Hyderi).

The Baloch Youth vs Al-Shabaz game was an intensely aggressive game that saw both sides go down to 10 men at the end. Baloch Youth went 1-0 up in 23rd minute when Salamuddin’s pass was scored by Talal Ayub. Al-Shabaz went down to 10 men in 67th minute when Noor-ul-Amin was sent-off for a dangerous foul. Baloch Youth also lost a man when Noman Mirza saw a 2nd yellow card in closing seconds of the match. The match was attended by former national footballer Eng. Mushtaq Ahmed Arain and various officials from DFA East.

Kalri Star dominated FC Rovers from the start. Aamir Dar Muhammad scored in 11th minute for Kalri Star off a Gul Sher pass. Gul Sher then made it 2-0 in 81st minute for Kalri Star after combining well with Shaheen Hussain. 2 further goals were scored in injury time. Rovers struck through an Ammar Shah screamer from 25 yards out in 90+1 to make it 2-1, but Kalri Star responded just 2 minutes later when Shaheen Hussain made it 3-1 from a Saad Abdullah cross.

Referees were Naseer Umar, Javed Bangash, M Umar, Habib Ullah, Babar Khan, Ch. Sarfraz, with match commissioners Abdul Karim and H.M.Hanif.

The results saw Baloch Youth, Kalri Star, and Al-Shabaz complete 6 matches each in Super League round with 11, 10, and 8 points respectively while FC Rovers were struggling with 4 points from 5 games.

On 15 April 2012, Kalri Star face Irfan Memorial while Karachi United face Burma Mohammadan at Baloch Mujahid Stadium.
