Karachi: The inaugural of the 10th Aga Khan University Inter-University Football Tournament was held on yesterday at the AKU Football Ground. Sixteen Teams representing Institution’s across Karachi are participating in the Tournament. The Tournament is being played on league basis and will progress through Quarters, Semi’s and Final.
Dr. Mughis Sheerani, Associate Dean, Post Graduate Medical Education (PGME), AKU along with Riaz Akbar Contractor, Chief Organizer & Manager, AKU Sports Centre, Qamar Yar Khan, Secretary, Sindh Referees Association, Munawar Khan, Qamar Ali, and M. Nizam inaugurated the Tournament. The Teams and the officials were introduced to the Chief Guest who later kicked the ball and officially inaugurated the Tournament.
The inaugural match was played between AKU and LCMD which was won by AKU by 3-1 goals. The official result is as follows:

AKU won the match, Score 03, 01 Goals. At half time, Score was 01 – 01 Goal each.

1. REHAN MUNIR 02 GOALS (In 10th & 49th minutes) 2. HASSAN KHALID 01 GOAL (33rd minutes) While 1. SAAD SHAHID 01 GOAL (6th minutes) were the scorer for the looser.

PAKISTAN NAVAL ENGINEERING COLLEGE (PNEC) Vs HAMDARD UNIVERSITY (HU)
PNEC won the match, Score 01, 00 Goal. At half time, Score was 0 – 0 Goals each.

NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY (NUST) Vs PAF-KARACHI INST. OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY (PAF-KIET)
The game ended in a draw as 1 goals each and got 1 points each, At half time, Score was 01 – 01 Goal each.

1. DAYAN BAJWA (NUST) 01 GOAL (11th minute) while WAQAR HUSSAIN (PAF-KIET) 01 GOAL (27th minute).
INST. OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (IBA) Vs JIINNAH MEDICAL & DENTAL COLLEGE (JMDC) IBA won the match, Score 03, 00 Goals. At half time, Score was 01 – NIL Goal in favour of IBA.

1. FUAD KHAN 02 GOALS (In 19th & 39th minutes) 2. ABDULLAH ABBAS 01 GOAL (50th minutes).
