10th AKU INTER UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT WILL START FROM APRIL 16TH
DR. MUGHIS SHEERANI WILL INAUGURATE THE TOURNAMENT
Karachi: The Aga Khan University (AKU) Sports Centre is organizing its 10th AKU Sports Centre Inter-University Football Tournament from Monday, April 16, 2012 at the AKU Football Ground. Dr. Mughis Sheerani, Associate Dean, Post Graduate Medical Education (PGME), AKU, will formally inaugurate the tournament at 5:00 PM.
Sixteen Teams representing Institutions across Karachi are participating. The teams have been divided in four pools and the tournament round matches will be played on league basis and will progress through group stages to Quarters, Semi’s and Final.
Pool A: Aga Khan University (AKU), National University of Sciences &Technology (NUST), Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry (LCMD) and PAF-Karachi Institute of Engineering & Technology (PAF-KIET).
Pool B: Hamdard University (HU), Dawood College of Engineering & Technology (DCET), Iqra University (IU) and Pakistan Naval Engineering College (PNEC).
Pool C: Sindh Medical College (SMC), Jinnah Medical & Dental College (JMDC), Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science & Technology (SZABIST).
Pool D: Baqai Medical University (BMU), Ziauddin University (ZU), Institute of Business Management (IoBM) and Muhammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU).
On the opening day Monday, April 16, 2012, four matches would be played. HU Vs. PNEC (12:00 p.m.), NUST Vs PAF-KIET (2:30 p.m.), JMDC Vs. IBA (4:00 p.m.) and LCMD Vs. host AKU (5:00 pm)
