NBP manager accuses PFF of favouritism

KARACHI: National Bank football team manager Qamar Ali Qureshi said on Saturday that the abandoned match of the KPT National Football Challenge Cup 2012 between KRL and Police should have been replayed.

“The rules sent by the PFF said that in case a match is abandoned it will be replayed,” Qamar told ‘The News’.

“After a scuffle in the KRL-Police game, the match commissioner should have re-started the match as there was no need of any abandonment,” he said.

The match between KRL and Police held at the Peoples Sports Complex on Thursday was abandoned when Police’s players attacked referee Irshadul Haq after he awarded a penalty kick to KRL in the 16th minute of the first half.

“The match was not replayed because PFF wanted to adjust National Youth A in the quarter-finals and it happened so,” he alleged.
